A
sincere Thanks & Hello to all who have visited Ky’s Website, & a
heartfelt thanks to a true friend Myleigh Barclay (Sanedmar Bullmastiffs
Perth Western Australia).Who has made this Website possible.
Pedigree have a caption “It’s a Dog Thing” & that totally sums up owning
a family pet & outstanding friend & companion!
A brief background to ourselves Brian & Ann, dogs have been a part of
all our married life (30 years). Previously to Ky we owned Rottweilers
Chino & Jay, after Jay passed away so suddenly we decided after a time
to change breed & had always loved the Bullmastiff, which is the reason
we have Ky! Fate, luck, call it what you will, but this lad will be a
hard act to follow!
Ky is our first Bullmastiff & we have to thank Duncan Ferguson & Lynn
McGroarty of Ferdhu Bullmastiffs. For allowing us to own such a true
Ambassador of the breed.
The other Breeding Line of Ky is Bunsoro, Bill & Fran Harris of whom we
have great respect from their years of dedicated breeding & their advice
since owning Ky.
Ky himself is unassuming, totally laidback (that’s also in the show ring
) outgoing, friendly, a great family member & have yet to find anything
to phase him!
Some of you will know Ky as Champion Ferdhu Rostar JW, the name Rostar
derives from the first three letters of our son Ross & the first three
letters of our daughter Tara. Ky’s name came from the first two letters
of the name Kyle, who was Ross’s twin brother, & we firmly believe has
guided Ky, throughout his Showing Career. From the start of showing Ky
at 6 months & 2 weeks, we have never held back on who we have shown
under. Junior Warrant gained at 14 months & English Champion at 18
months! First Bullmastiff to win Pedigree Champion Stakes Heat which we
would like to dedicate to Mr Michael Boothroyd who sadly died early
2006. A well respected Judge in many Breeds. To top these award Ky has
received Reserve CC’S at Crufts 2004 & 2005, 1st Open Dog 2006. Which
puts in perspective his achievements, as we are not known in the
Bullmastiff World as a Top Breeder or Handler, which proves Ky
consistently at Championship level against the best of the best Ky has
won on pure merit, judged on himself alone. Ky’s other talents have
included appearing on BBC Television “Test your Pet”, with Rolf Harris!
The photographs you will see include a few real favourites of ours, one
of which sums Ky up, included a young lady called Audrey in wheelchair,
taken on the main street of Killarney in Ireland by our friend David
Niall, which we have called “A Moment in Time”. But the one part of the
picture we cannot share with you all was Audrey’s laughter, reduced
quite a few bystanders to tears! Ky is also a registered PAT Dog (Pets
as Therapy), has had many assignments of Old Peoples Homes, Hospice’s &
Special Handicap Schools & Young Adults Centre with learning
difficulties. Our other favourite photo’s of Ky in our garden looking
over the fence at a cat in the field. Another sincere thanks must go to
Gabor our friend in Hungary whose picture has fully encapsulated Ky!
Through owning Ky we have gained many new friends in UK, Australia, New
Zealand, Ireland, Hungary, Denmark, Holland, Germany, France, Italy,
Finland, Norway, Belgium, Switzerland & USA! You all know who you are &
we are very honoured to call you friends thankyou all for your support &
encouragement.
Ky is used at Stud to approved Bitches Worldwide & are thrilled with the
offspring he has produced with the chosen Bitches to-date. We are always
pleased to find out their progress as they mature in life.
Once again our sincere thanks to all who have visited Ky’s website, & a
special thankyou to Hilde of Old Manilla Bullmastiffs for the beautiful
drawing of Ky, which she captured perfectly!
Critique by Chris Quantril
CC
winner & Best of Breed. Saunders "Int Ch Ferdhu Rostar JW." This superb
red male dog has in my opinion got better as he has aged, he is a
remarkable ambassador of the Breed both in the ring & out of it. I
consider myself privileged that his owners entered under me, I do not
think that I can improve on previous critiques so I shall not try to,
other than to say that I still think that "Ky" id one of the best
Champions bred within our beautiful breed. Keep on going "Ky" and long
may you continue showing.
